Dry Sorbent Injection for SO3 & Other Pollution Mitigation
What is A Dry Sorbent Injection System?
A dry sorbent injection system is an effective method of pollution control that uses ground, powdered, or other fine-grain sorbent materials to reduce harmful emissions from exhaust gases generated by industrial processes. The sorbents are pneumatically injected from a storage silo into the flue gas stream, where it adsorbs vaporized mercury or other toxic substances from flue gas.
The sorbent material used and the rate at which it is injected depend upon the process that is generating the exhaust, the materials used in that process, and the type of air pollution control equipment being used.
Nol-Tec Dry Sorbent Injection Systems
There are a number of technologies available to help industrial boiler operators, fossil fueled electrical generation facilities, and biomass plants meet recently established and emerging EPA requirements, including the recent Boiler MACT. Determining the most cost-effective method of Hg, HCl, HF, SO2, and SO3 mitigation can be a daunting task.
Nol-Tec's dry sorbent injection technology encompasses a wide variety of dry sorbent injection solutions, and can be custom-designed to help your power generation, boiler, or biomass facility achieve compliance.
The Leader In Dry Sorbent Injection Technology
Nol-Tec is the proven industry leader in designing and installing dry sorbent injection systems, with dozens of successful permanent installations at companies such as TVA, Seminole, Southern Companies, and Kentucky Utilities/LG & E.
Our approach focuses on reliable handling methods for effective delivery of sorbent materials: hydrated lime injection, Trona injection (sodium sesquicarbonate), and SBC (sodium bicarbonate) injection. Mercury abatement, using powdered activated carbon injection, is another of our areas of expertise. We also supply all manner of pneumatic ash handling equipment.
But don't just take our word for it: with our portable DSI system, we can bring our dry sorbet injection technology into your facility to effectively verify the proper sorbent, chemical use rate, and injection location. In this way, we can determine your emissions mitigation results and the ideal system configuration before you invest in a permanent DSI solution. We can also provide CFD duct modeling and stack monitoring studies.
